ReplyDeleteIt's also important to call for repairs, especially if your AC is running but not cooling, as soon as you notice a problem. Even if it's a small issue like a strange new sound or a faint smell, you don't want it to get a lot worse. That's when you end up paying way more down the line because the damage gets much worse. Worst case? You end up needing a new system because a piece broke and caused more damage inside the system. When you nip the problem in the bud, you could maybe pay less than $200 without losing a day of cooling. That's also why a spring AC tune-up goes a long way. Your tech will make sure nothing's about to break so you're all set for summer.
ReplyDeleteHow about the cleaning mini split cost? It's more than for conventional AC but it makes a huge difference! We had a big problem with stale air after having our mini split for a little over a year. It turned out that the inside was caked with mold and other junk! Once we got that cleared out, things improved immediately. Now we get the entire system cleaned once a year. Totally worth the investment!
